Hi there ! See that man over there on the left? Thats the First Ultimate Uniform Fan. A passionate man he is , and also our beloved founding father of Outpost Uniform. Ultimate Sportsman, Businessman, Great Outdoorsman, Handsome Man, Uniform Man, Sharp as Eagle Man, Diciplined Man, Kids Love Him Man and finally Passionate Man. His Last 'Man' title is probably why you're here reading this. So here is his Story......

Passion ! Thats the main ingredient for any successful venture and this man had Ship loads of it. During the 1960's when Elvis was back singing, Martin Luther King made his historical Speech, and the Vietnam war was on its way, this young man started a Uniform shop tucked away in the hustle bustle of the busy town of Klang.

He started out as a scout uniform shop with basic camping equipment. Happily he was able to meet the requirements of the local scouts and girl guides since he was a Sharp as Eagle Man. His success in always being able to suit the customer's needs was because of his classic mantra of: "The Customer is Always Right" which the staff at Outpost have drummed into their heads until now.

Then, on one hot afternoon under a shady banana tree, Mr. Lai, our great founder, spoke to his son. As he was a man of few words, this was understood to be a monumental occassion. So he said, "Son, its time you earned your rice bowl. You start work tommorow. Yes i know you're only 12, but better to start early than later". And this was how the business was later passed down to family members. This period of time is fondly remembered by the family as "The Age of Reckoning"

Fast Forward to the late 1990's and a significant newspaper article appears ! "Students must join uniformed Bodies" Mr Lai's Son Leapt in joy as a whole new market was open to him. With this surge in demand for co-curriculum uniform as a result of the said Ministry's policy, Camps & Apparels Corp Sdn Bhd was formed in 1999, together with the family members of Mr. Lai, to revolutionise the retail concept of providing quality co-curriculum uniform that complies with the respective uniform bodies attire protocol.

With the approval and endorsement obtained from the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development in 2003, we launched our first franchised outlet in the royal town of Shah Alam, Selangor in 2004. In 2007, through a rebranding exercise, we introduced our new retail outlet concept under a new trade name of OUTPOST We have more than 20 OUTPOST retail outlets located in nearly every state in Malaysia.
